Dr. Lorna McCourt

Dr. Lorna McCourt qualified from the University of Leeds in 1995. She was awarded the Watssman prize in Clinical Dental Excellence and also received the Percy Leigh Gold Medal For Restorative Dentistry.

She completed her vocational training in a busy general practice in Yorkshire. She also worked as a general dental practitioner in Glasgow for a year.

Lorna temporarily left general practice for two years to further her post graduate training, first within the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery unit in Newcastle General Hospital. She then expanded her training in the Dublin Dental Hospital gaining valuable experience, especially in the area of restorative dentistry. She remains committed to continuing dental education.

Lorna joined the team here at Sandycove Dental Care in 2000. She has gained a reputation for pain-free dentistry with gentle hands and has a particular interest in complex restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

She also finds treating children and anxious patients especially rewarding.

Lorna lives in Blackrock with her husband Darren and they have three children under the age of fifteen. Spare time is considered a major luxury in the McCourt household, but she enjoys hill-walking, swimming and reading should she be lucky enough to have the time!
