Norma gained her Diploma in Dental Nursing in 1981 from the Dublin Dental Hospital.  She got 1st place in her year and was awarded Gold metal in the British Diploma in Dental Nursing.  She gained her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1982 in Edinburgh Dental School and was awarded the Oral B award in her final exams.  Norma worked as a hygienist in private practice in North West England.  During this time she obtained her Diploma in Dental Health Education from the Royal Society of Health.  She joined Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1983 and worked as Staff Hygienist there for seven years.  Returning to Ireland in 1990 she worked as a hygienist in private practice before taking a career break to raise her family.

She is now back working as a dental nurse with Sean and is a keen golfer, gardener and cook (when she has the time!).
